Fond of the military, and looking back on my own service, I wanted to incorporate the 40’s and 50’s visuals of old Americana—apple pie, yellow ribbons, and World War II era propaganda posters—into my QSL card. The design also pays heed to periods of wartime where amateur radio operators were enlisted by their various governments to monitor the airwaves for the war effort, performing communications and counterintelligence tasks, both in and out of uniform.
